So, we had the afternoon off on Monday April 25th so we went to see the pire execution of the giant explosive snowman. It was a replacement snowman because evil communist terrorists have kidnapped the real one. Because we were three hours early, Dave, Chris and I opted to take a boat cruise on the lake. Sadly the boat did not make it back on time, so we only got to see the whole thing go up in smoke from far away. The head of the puppet exploded with a great din a little over ten minutes after the pire was ignited, which according to custom indicates that a warm summer awaits us.
Here are some pix:
At the cafeteria where we normally have lunch they had little plastic 'bogg'-s on yummy choclate pires. Here is mine before I sample it. I took the figure home and I guess I will burn it at some appropriate occasion.
They had more processions of course, I won't bother to post all the pix this time. It just occured to me that long dresses must have been decidedly impractical in the times of horse based transportation.
This is as much as we have seen of the conflagration from the cruise boat. Not pictured are the horsemen who ride around the pire as it burns and explodes. Wonder how they train the horses to cope with that. Note how the swans peek into the picture. Cute!
