Whatever When I heard there was another PF costume party coming up, I just had to go. I know it's terribly immature, but it's also too much fun to miss.

First of all, special thanks go to the ticket control lady at the doors. Thing is, by the time my associate Mr. D and I arrived on location, there was a block long line of partygoers at the doors. I thought if we get in line, we could be camping out there for hours to finally get turned away by some burly bouncer on a power trip, so we went for the VIP/member entrance with a negligible waiting line. Because we are neither members nor VIPs, I fully expected to get sent away, but the aforementioned lady was fortunately susceptible to be charmed into letting us in anyway for what I believed to be absolutely no reason at all. Props to her.

Props also to the scary looking dude from Stuttgart who invited me to the PF backstage lounge where I shared a romantic candle light beer with him. ;-) Apparently a scruffy goth looking leather jacket can get you into high places.

So this time the theme was vampire, that should be obvious from the pictures. I only have one vampire tooth on most of the pictures because the second one refused to stick in place, and I didn't have time to fix it properly. In retrospect this is a good thing because the damn fangs make it hard to drink, chew gum, talk legibly (actually I have no idea why everyone was so friendly with me considering I was just hissing and mumbling at them the whole time) and the one tooth that I did have in there for most of the time ended up causing a nasty swelling in my lower lip that it was always digging itself into. Ah, the tribulations of being a vampire!

The other thing that sucks is long hair. I never had real long hair, and this was my first evening convincingly(?) faking it. Respect to all the women putting up with this crap on a daily basis just for us. I advise short haired guys to go just one day with a long wig to see what a bitch it is. It kept falling in my face, getting in my mouth, catching itself in my cracked nails, entangling my sunglasses, drooping into my drink, and whipping other people in the face. (Ok, this last bit is kinda nice.) I did collect some 'coping with hair' tips from folks who looked like they had to have a few more years experience with this than I, so I expect next time I will make a more graceful impression. Unless I decide to try high heels. Actually, let's not go there yet!
